If you can remember us in your will it will help to ensure that we can continue with our work. If you are making a will you should seek advice from a solicitor and tell them how much money or what proportion of your estate you wish us to receive. Please remember to tell them our correct name which is The Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, Registered Charity No. 1047257.
You may wish to make donations to us by asking your employer to make regular deductions from your wage/salary payments either on a weekly or monthly basis through the Inland Revenue Payroll Giving Scheme. By donating in this way if you have £10 deducted from your gross pay, your take home pay will only reduce by £7.80 if you are a basic rate tax payer, or £6.00 if you are a higher rate tax payer but we will receive the full £10 plus a 10% bonus from the Inland Revenue. Further information is available from the Inland Revenue website - Payroll Giving (IR65) - or from our Mappin Street Centre.
If you wish to donate shares to us you will not be liable to any Capital Gains Tax on the shares disposed of and you will receive Income Tax relief at your highest rate of tax based on the market value of the shares at the date of the transfer. Further information is available from the Inland Revenue website - Gift of Shares (IR65) - or from our Mappin Street Centre.
Businesses can make donations to us in any way that is suitable such as cash donations, gifts of stock/equipment or secondment of staff and receive full tax relief on these donations. Further information is available from the Inland Revenue website - Company Gifts (IR64) - or from our Mappin Street Centre.
