Please Touch Project

Photograph of reminiscence group doing Please Touch handling research

We have been working with Caroline and Amelia on the Please Touch Projectand also in collaboration with Museums Sheffield. This project is investigating the use of tactile objects for handling at museums.

This week, we had a visit from Caroline and Amelia who brought some 3D printed handling objects that were produced from scanning actual objects from the museum. They did some research with our Reminiscence Group where they handled the objects and listened to an accompanying description from an 'audio brain'. The objects included a reproduction of teething rings, a doll and a bowl. The session was a great success, prompting lots of memories and dicsussions. The project is running though to November, so we will let you know about any updates.
