Our Team. Volunteer Profiles

Photo of Gary on the telephone During lockdown and during the current restrictions, we have been extremely grateful for the continued support of a team of our volunteers. The roles they have carried out have been very much appreciated by our clients too. We are going to focus on these volunteers and want to say a huge thank you to them. As usual, we could not offer the range of services that we do without the support of all our volunteers.

Gary is one of these volunteers and he is a Tele-Friend and Tele-Contact volunteer. He has supported our clients throughout lockdown as well as doing this role before.
Tele-friends role involves regular tele-contact with visually impaired people who may be experiencing social isolation. It establishes regular communication, offers friendship, and helps to diminish feelings of loneliness.

Tele-contact is getting in touch with clients who we haven’t had contact with for 3 months to check that they are OK and identify if there is anything that we could support them with.

Thank you Gary for all your dedicated support throughout the current situation as well as before.
