Off the Shelf Festival

OTS Logo

Off the Shelf is Sheffield’s literary event that runs throughout October. There are lots of great events planned at lots of different locations around the city and you will find all the listings in the PDF brochure. Please contact us if you would like us to forward this on to you by email.

We would like to draw your attention to a couple of events particularly:

Wednesday 19th October 2pm Milly Johnson at the Central Library

Milly will be talking about her books including the ‘Barn of the Half Moon Hill’, followed by the chance to ask questions about her work. This event is particularly for people with a visual impairment, but all are welcome. The visually impaired reading group who meet at the library are involved with this event and Milly’s books are available as talking books.

There are only a few tickets left, so you will need to book your ticket if you would like to attend. http://www.offtheshelf.org.uk/events/milly-johnson

Saturday 22nd Oct 1:30pm - 3pm 'Bigger & Better' at SRSB’s Mappin Street Centre

Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind’s Creative Writing Group, the Mappin Writers are holding their annual event where they will share examples of poetry, prose and short stories. This year they will be joined by special guests, the author EL Lindley and poet John Stocks, who will speak about their work.

Come along to hear work from the wealth of talent that our group offer and also hear from professional writers about their work too. Mappin Writers and special guests EL Lindley and John Stocks will share memories, inspiring imagination with the power of words.

This is a free event and CDs of the Mappin Writers' work will be available.
