Taxi Drivers in Sheffield are to receive mandatory pre-entry disability awareness training. Sheffield is leading the field in the UK, and Radio 4 presenter Peter White reecently visited the city to record a story about this which was aired on Radio 4 on 14th February 2012. Two of SRSB's clients were interviewed to discuss their experiences of travelling in taxis.

The training will cover disability awareness for the type of support that people require and any new applicants will now have to take part. Drivers have previously taken part as an elective.
