Introduction to the Role

Our groups, often started by occupational therapy students, and created to become sustainable after they leave, encourage our clients to carry on with (or begin) hobbies that they love, regardless of their sight loss.

These groups are facilitated by volunteers who share a passion for a particular hobby, eg cookery, craft, singing etc

Skills required:

Friendly, supportive, active skills required.

Time Involved:

2 to 4 hours, once a week.

Where the role is based:

At SRSB's Mappin Street Centre in Sheffield or RSS's Ship Hill Centre in Rotherham.

You can read what our volunteers get out of different roles on our Volunteer Testimonials page.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not currently accepting applications due to the COVID-19 situation, as our centres are closed. When restrictions are lifted we would be very pleased to hear from you.

In the meantime, if you would like us to contact you when our centres reopen, you can email us here: volunteers@srsb.org.uk and we will keep your name on record.

Thank you for your interest in supporting our charity.
