We are the largest
local independent provider of services to the 'sight impaired' people of Sheffield.
If you or a friend / relative are experiencing sight problems, we are here
to help. See the 'About Us' page to learn more about the society and explore
the rest of the site to find the help you need. Don't worry if you can't find
what you want, you can also just call us on Sheffield 2446164 and we will
hep in whatever way we can.
If you can still read or have someone who can read to you, the 2 newsletters (below) will bive you a great overwiew of what we do. So feel free to read them on line or download them to be printed out.
The general newsletter is the best place to find out what we've been up to during the last 2 months or so and what we've got planned. It also features news and short items of interest such as audio described theatre performance information and the like.
The Fundraising News is a separate newsletter that reports on recent fundraising events and lets you know what's coming up and how to get involved.

"Anyone with some vision can now see the new look of the outside of our new 'Mappin Street Centre' when they walk along Mappin Street since the large barriers have been removed from the front. We can't touch though as work is still going on to complete the building hopefully by the end of June....ish.
Although the temporary Darnal location has seved us incredibly well, we are now 'chomping at the bit' and can't wait to get back to the city centre and to what promisses to be a great new centre.

Now it's even easier than ever to make a donation. 'Charity Choice' is a secure and well established organization that enable you to make a donation over the internet. More Information
We now accept payments for goods and services by debit and credit card. This is in response to our members changinhg habits and the fact that in many cases it is easier for visually impaired people to flash the plastic rather than write cheques or carry spare money.
We always need your help if you can give it. This is even more important while we are in our temporary premises at Darnal as some existing volunteers may be finding it difficult to give the time they used to due to travel issues.
If you have always wanted to help others, the SRSB is a great place to start. You can give as much or as little time as you want and there is a wide variety of options to suit everyone. Click here for more information.
