DeafBlind Group

People who have both hearing loss and sight loss are referred to as DeafBlind. They are potentially even more isolated than people with just sight loss and have complex communication needs. Some people find it difficult to meet in large groups so SRSB operates a DeafBlind Group. They meet on the last Friday of each month at our Mappin Street Centre from 10:30am to 2:30pm and provides an opportunity for deafblind people to meet on a social basis in an environment that takes account of their specialist communication needs.

The group is run by Rachel Smith, a trained guide communicator with signing skills, with support from volunteers. They ensure that the members of the group enjoy a range of activities and outings.

Refreshments are served and there is no charge for attending.

Please call us on 0114 272 2757 or email info@srsb.org.uk if you have any queries.
