Eric is one of SRSB’s clients and is an active member of the Bowling Group and the Walking Group, as well as a regular at the Activities Centre. He also finds time to help the Fundraising team by volunteering at store collections, taking part in events and he is an important member of our team. This year, he is helping SRSB to raise awareness of our charity and has so far participated in the Sheffield Half Marathon’s Fun Run, SRSB’s ‘Slide for Sight’ Zip Wire at Bramall Lane and our ‘Walk for Sight’ at Chatsworth. He proudly wore his old Sherwood Foresters’ regimental uniform at the Fun Run and received one of the biggest cheers from the crowd at Don Valley Stadium as he crossed the finish line! All of this at the age of 86! His motto is ‘If you rest you rust!’ Eric is a real inspiration to us and is a true gentleman.
