Losing your sight is sadly something that can affect anyone of us at any time. There are currently over 2 million people living with sight loss in the UK. A further 250 people are diagnosed each day and these numbers are expected to double by 2030; that’s one person every three minutes.  Collectively we need to do more to remove the barriers stopping local visual and/or hearing-impaired people from achieving whatever they want to do and aspiring to be whoever they want to be. About SRSB and RSS

SRSB was founded in 1860 and for over 160 years has been at the forefront of sight loss services locally. We currently support over 7,000 people who are visually impaired and/or hearing impaired in the region (over 4,500 in Sheffield and over 2,500 in Rotherham).

The SRSB/RSS 1860 Club

To join the club we are asking companies to provide a small annual subscription of £100 (or more) to support our work. 

Research carried out for a history book produced as part of our delayed 160th anniversary celebrations has revealed that for many years a lot of our operational income was from similar annual subscriptions. Up to 350 companies and organisations contributed at any one time.
