Befriending

Photograph of SRSB client chatting to Befriending Volunteer Our befriending service, which is staffed wholly by volunteers, helps to alleviate social exclusion for visually impaired people who may be feeling isolated in their own home. Befriending volunteers visit a client in their home to offer support, companionship or practical assistance, which can include reading and dealing with personal correspondence. Most people, however, are very happy with a cup of tea and a chat or even going for a short walk to their local shops or park.

PLEASE NOTE: Our centres are not currently open for our usual activities due to Covid-19 restrictions and other services may be affected. Please follow this link to read full detail in the latest Client Service Update.
Please refer to our Client Events page for current activities. Please call us on 0114 272 2757 or email info@srsb.org.uk if you have any queries.
