Meet the Team: Michelle: “Hi, my name is Michelle and I have worked at Cairn Home for a little over 4 years now. I initially started as a cleaner in May 2020 and after about 12 months I moved on to Office Administrator. My current role is now Environment Officer which includes ensuring all equipment is serviced regularly, checking water temperatures, checking windows are all in working order, various checks around the garden and building, and infection prevention and control audit etc.

I also maintain the garden (weather permitting) and we have this year started to grow our own vegetables and herbs. We’ve currently managed to produce cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers and two fig trees which are growing nicely in the greenhouse. The plan for next year is to expand on this to potatoes and anything that is relatively simple to produce as I must admit I’m not an expert gardener and am winging this slightly! If I’m not available to get out to the garden sometimes, there are some of the residents who will check on the greenhouse with the activity ladies and water all the plants/vegetables for me which they really seem to enjoy and its lovely that they take part in it.
